Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website.

Who we are

The data controller is John Stevens, the Rejoin EU Party candidate for Clacton. You can contact him about anything in this policy at [email protected].

Written enquiries and complaints about privacy should be sent to:

The Rejoin EU Party

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us:

We also collect basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address and browser type, in the normal course of running a website.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:

Your postcode tells us which ward and constituency you are in. We use it to understand where support and concern are concentrated, and to make sure we are talking to the right people about the right local issues.

Sharing your information with Rejoin EU Party HQ

Please read this section carefully, because it is the most important one.

All of the information you give us through this website is shared with Rejoin EU Party headquarters, which holds it on a shared national database along with the information collected by the party’s other candidates and campaigns.

This means that John Stevens and the Rejoin EU Party are joint controllers of your information, and that the party may contact you about its own campaigns — not only about Clacton. If you would rather the party did not contact you, tell us at [email protected] and we will act on it.

Beyond this, we do not sell your information, and we do not share it with any other organisation for their own marketing.

Our website and database run on NationBuilder, which processes this information on our behalf under a contract requiring it to keep your data secure and use it only as we instruct.

We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or by the Electoral Commission.

Your survey answers

We record your answers against your record so we can understand what matters to people in Clacton, and they are analysed in aggregate. We do not publish individual responses, and we will not attribute a quotation to you without asking you first.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out above, and no longer. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your email address so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

Your rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] or write to the address above. Every campaign email we send also carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — for example, to keep you signed in and to keep forms secure. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may then stop working.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
